Does anyone have an opinion on what it would take to paint a Supercharger in a color of choice? Just hanging it out there to see what would be involved and what it would take to apply the paint correctly to take the under hood temps.

Does a manufacturer like Whipple use heat paint and or is it baked on? Just seems like $600.00 for a painted version is a bit steep. Unless of course I'm way off on whats involed.

My guess is the Whipple is powdercoated which isn't a cheap process considering the man hours involved.

The details are in the prep work. Is it bare metal or is it finished? How much are you willing to take it apart to avoid overspray?

I have seen spray painted SC and they look fine. Probably doesn't last as long as a powder coated Whipple but cost a lot less. Best to have the SC out of the car cleaned and prepped, masked, primed with self etching primer and then painted with engine enamel. Should look fine for at least a couple years.
