Just looking to see who out here has done their own turbo setups custom? I have searched and searched and only found one and it believe it was on a 2018. The hellion kit looks great but honestly for the price I could put together 2 if not 3 full custom kits on my own (using better components). Unfortunately, there aren't any real turbo manifold options for our cars so I will be taking the hellion route of using stock manifolds.

So please, if there are any other custom guys out there please speak up, thanks!!

Could look at the On3 kit as well. You could swap out pieces like turbos and wastegates to name brand parts if the included stuff scares you, and still be far cheaper than Hellion.

Read my thread. Lots of custom parts and cheap.

It flat out performs.
Yep i've read it you are the one I was referring to. It still kinda blows my mind more people arent into the custom thing. Then again I'm from the import world where basically everyone did their own custom turbo setups.

@gimmie11s thread is a strong option.
@beefcake may have some manifolds as well, but no thread like gimmie11s... yet.

Both are strong options and top my current list.
I spoke to beefcake about manifolds but I guess they aren't quite ready yet. I asked if he could send me some pics of them but I have not heard back yet. At this point I think I'm just going to precede as is.

I definitely looked at them as well as a few other kits. They refused to sell me just the manifolds which is what I really like. For the price of I believe 3800 (with the turbo delete option) I could still do a full kit with precision turbos for cheaper.

Exactly! I cut my teeth on DSM’s LOOOOONG ago and fabbed all kinds of stuff for those cars back in the late 90s and early 00’s.

I came over from the Jeep world, not so much for power mods, just tones of DIY fabrication mods. Seems weird so many mustang owners don’t own any tools, but can have a bunch of bolt in stuff somebody else gets paid to install. One that blew me away was a build thread for a wide body Shelby I think it was. The guys build thread started at least two years before the guy even took ownership of the car.

You are exactly right, there's nothing wrong with it at all but I'm just not use to where people only strictly use certain parts when the possibilities are endless. Maybe I can come up with a custom kit and sell it for half the price of Hellion, lol.

you mean like a UPR turbo kit?

Honestly i think the CG Fabrication hotside setup is about as cost effective as it gets while still allowing you to go "custom"

I don't see anything listed on their site for our cars specific I just see "coyote swap". The crx racing kit is very cheap for what you get I think that's the best deal as far as custom without making your own manifolds. On3 is a bit pricey but they do include turbos but I wouldn't trust those personally.

I meant pulling all the rest of the supporting parts together as well.
CG fabs need modding for 10R80?

I need full ground clearance for lowered road course setup.

The CG fab hot side is very nice but presents a lot of problems..... A/C, coolant plumbing, exhaust routing out of the turbo to name a few.

A guy on YouTube did one on his yellow 2018 and documents the struggles pretty well.

it seems most of the turbo kits present these problems and its most likely why there is a very small amount of single kits going around.

After the year long saga with my setup i am happy with it but if i were looking right now. The BLfabrications kit that Sai li is working on looks really good. i have ordered a few of their parts and they are all great.
