Custom Cold Side for Tial is built

So I decided to build my own intercooler pipes out of 304 stainless, I have about $50 in this project so far, bought a 180 degree 2.75" bend, cut it up as needed and welded it up. I didn't spend a lot of time polishing it because I'm going to either coat it or wrap it.

Thanks guys, just a hobbyist doing things between work and family. Have my 2.5" material on the way for the hotside, hope to work on that maybe next weekend....oh I'm also fortunate to have a buddy with a sweet Miller welder.....$$$$

Just as a bit of advice for folks doing their own work, you are better off putting your BOV on the "hot side" before the IC for best performance and protection of the turbo.

Actually their are two schools of thought on this, the hotside argument seems to be the winner for cars running centrifugal type blowers, however on a turbo car when the throttle plate closes the most pressure is immediately right there, so the coldside is favored. In the grand scheme of things I think it is probably negligible. One things for certain, it will be much easier to fit a Tial 50mm on the coldside of the Ecoboost.....

and why cp-e was the first to market with a Tial and HKS flange on the cold side

But this car stock the rec valve is on hot side, right ?
with hood open, its the left pipe going back to turbo intake pipe .

I always tended to like to put rec valve right by TB , this also has side affect on large intercooler with long piping you get better low speed response (you bypassing the intercooler) . But that is also on MAF type systems, so wouldn't affect ecoboost in that part .

PS: my comment above is not for BOV but one were it returned back to intake .
