I’m looking for some cool mods that people have done. Stuff like custom bodywork, not kits. Maybe active aero or anything that took some fabrication. Interior, exterior, performance or convenience wise. Let’s see some photos!

I’ve seen a GT500 with active aero. Pretty badass and the owner did all his own control electronics which is very impressive but lots of extra stuff hanging out in the airflow under the wing to pull it off.

My aero isn’t active but I did it myself. Wickers for the hood vents are fabricated too although the vents are off the shelf Trackspec parts.

I like it. Did it help with heat extraction when you put the wickers in front of the vent?

I am a big fan of custom mods. Been working on a couple right now, in the prototype stage. When this cold weather breaks I will post pics. For now I will tease you with descriptions😁
CF vinyl wrapped exhaust tips

Real honeycomb mesh inserts for side scoops

Special treatment of sun visor

Stay tuned😎

Uhh, frankly IDK. I didn't really test them with and without the wickers to see if there was any difference. I think they look cool and maybe it helps a little.? They aren't permanently installed so I could (in theory) do some A/B testing with yarn and see what the airflow looks like.

My biggest problem with heat is probably the 80,000 miles of dings and dents in my stock radiator. (its on the list for replacement this year)

I’m looking forward to the sun visor mod. Are you using special vinyl for the exhaust tips? I’ve considered trying mine in black but I’m worried about it melting.

A lot of people think the exhaust tips are very hot in service, but it is a misunderstanding. I applied regular carbon fiber vinyl and took a long test drive last week with no trouble at all. Prior to all of this I did a thermal test in my work shop. With my heat gun I brought the temp up to 190* with no effect on the vinyl.

The key to the whole project is you need to make a correct template on the 2021 GT. The tips are not square to the body, they look sawed off at an angle. Plus, they are not rolled tips and they look cheap. I have some trim that goes around the edge and along with the CF pattern it looks much better than the factory design, an odd shortcoming from Ford. If your tips are perpendicular to the body you won't need a template. Apply an excess of material over the tip, then trim with a new razor blade.😎

A While back I added electric cut outs to my MBRP system. I suppose no real performance gain but hearing the motor sing unencumbered makes me smile haha. Please note: this was one of my first welding projects ever... much training and skill has been acquired since but these are not pretty.

I would definitely like to see what you're doing with the side scoops.
Here's an idea of what it might look like in red. I think you dislike fake mesh on cars like i do. I am still fine tuning a few details.....

here's a preview of the tips, I still need to add the rolled trim material, but you get the idea I hope.

How did you make the wickers for the vents. I'm looking at making a set my self? What materials did you use? Thanks!

Thats 45° angle aluminum which I got online and then cut down to some patterns I made and painted. Its attached with the good stuff - 3M double sided tape (which holds up great). The center portion is two separate pieces. Bending it in the middle wasn't working well.

Damn that's pretty smart! I know trackspec was supposed to be in the process of coming out with them=, but they never did. So I'm looking for a solution
