I wonder if we can plug and play US spec mirrors onto our cars, I would be keen on getting blind spot ones if could plug and play then onto our Aus spec cars

Unfortunately it's not that simple, there are several sensors needed and probably a different wiring loom and BCM calibration.

I was just in at my local dealer who had four Mustangs sitting there waiting to be collected. 3 were fastbacks and one convertible. The convertible had no ribs on either side, two fastbacks had both sides and the other had only one side. I don't know what build dates they were.

My build date for a Shadow Black Eco Boost was August 2015 and I took delivery in February 2016 (ordered December 2014). My car has no wings, fins or gills on either mirror. However, while not loud I have noticed the sound of air rushing over the driver's side mirror at speed. Perhaps, it was a modification for build dates after August. What I have noticed is that 2016 Mustang body aerodynamics and drag coefficient is noticeably better than any other car I have driven or owned. While travelling on the motorway between Newcastle and Sydney, I received only very minor levels of wind turbulence buffeting from other cars when passing through those numerous sandstone cuttings on the motorway.
