Hell, not all Cup 2 tires are equivalent compounds to other Cup 2 tires.
Can you elaborate on that, I was intending to show that the UTOG is an excellent way to judge longevity of a tire using the PS 4S compared to the PS Cup 2.

the number is only modestly useful when comparing tires by the SAME manufacturer. Across manufacturers it's useless.

You'd have to go with an alt size... For what it's worth I asked Ford Performance what size they recommend and they suggested 255/40R19(f) 275/40R19(r) for Winter tires. It's what they use on their fleet cars (GT350, same wheel size as M1 I believe).
Love this thread. I bought the handling package primarily for the wheels and handling upgrades, but I have no plans to take it to the track nor max it out on the street, so the factory tires themselves hold no allure for me. As I have no interest in preserving the factory tires, I also have no interest in swapping on winter wheels + tires, so am planning to mount all season tires on the HP wheels. I too got a recommendation from Ford Performance (and American Muscle) for 255/40R19 and 275/40R19 all season tires, but, given the factory ratio (i.e. 305/30R19 and 315/30R19) I am thinking that 275/35R19 and 285/35R19 might be a better, staggered size. I found three pretty good options on TireRack.com. I am wondering if anyone has an opinion as to whether or not this configuration will safeguard against any rubbing. I am 99.99% sure it will, but just asking the experts here ;-)

I think those are only about a .5” taller than the factory HP tires so you should be ok on rubbing. My concern would be that those tires are a little narrow for the wheel widths. It will prob work but they might have that stretched look

Yes sir. I think that is why the Ford Performance folks recommend 255/40R19 and 275/40R19, i.e. the 40mm profile enables a bit of stretch to the wider rims. I am opting for a wider-then-recommended tire with a less than recommend profile to try and split the difference. Somehow, Ford seems to think that 255s and 275s work on 10.5 and 11 inch wheels respectively.

Wow 255’s on a 10.5” would look like some of the imports I see driving around. All you would need to do is max out the negative camber and cut the springs to complete that look!
I like your idea of 275’s a lot better

Are you sure they were recommending them for HP wheels and not for the regular wheels, or to put it the other way, they did not expect you to get the regular wheels for the winter tyres?

I would expect that putting narrow tyres on wider wheels will impact the seal and the structural strength of the sides as well (but I am just an armchair physicist ).

Everyone make sure you check the detailed specs on Tire Racks website for each individual tire and size, it will give a range of recommended wheels widths.
