Hey guys, I hooked up a CTEK MSX 5.0 on my '22 GT. I used the fuse panel and shock tower for the eyelit hook up.

I noticed tonight that the charger seems to buzz while in use. I unplugged its and plugged it back in. The noise seemed to change with the "modes".

If you have one of these chargers, does it make noise. I have several cars on maintenance the chargers, and I don't remember ever hearing them make noise.

I have a Ford Performance unit (made by CTEK) and yes, it does same. Faint buzz and pulsing noises. I use it consistently without issue.

Turn up the stereo............ LMAO
But on a serious note, surprised a solid-state device would do that.

Thanks everyone!

As Rapid Red says, that was my concern, too.

I've had the CTEK on the car for a couple weeks and have yet to see it reach the 8th step. When I go down to the garage I take a quick look at it. And, the charge on the Excursion. And, the charger on the RT....

This is my first season with the car on the tender for extended periods. I'm still learning both the car's and the tender's behaviors. Skye took a little over two weeks to reach Step 8.

This week, I disconnected the tender (needed the extension cord) for the day. After later reconnecting, the car was back at Step 8 by the end of the day.

The car also entered into deep sleep in the first month, but I kind of expected this. I knew the tender was connected and working. To prove it, I unlocked and then locked the car. Aprox 5 to 10 minutes later, the Ford app confirmed the car, for however long it would be, was "awake".

YMMV.

Thanks Skye. I'm hoping mine won't sit that long. I just don't want it out when there's salt on the roads.

UPDATE: I also reached out last night to CTEK. Their response:
"The charger can emit a buzzing sound in light load charge situation in any phase of charge program.
This depends on small variations in charge current that causes the transformer inside the charger electronics to make the buzz sound. This situation will not cause any harm to the battery or the battery charger."

Hope this helps others.
