Do you have poly, delrin, or spherical bushings?

This may sound obvious, but did you use the grease on the bushing that came with the links?

I bet it is the progressive springs and not the vertical links. Real easy to put back on the stock vertical links to test.

I've had the Steeda vertical links for quite a while and no noise. Probably something else, you should contact Steeda.

No noises with mine, either - installed them myself and was probably lazy with the grease. I did have occasional knock with the spherical vertical links that I had prior (the ones Fishtail suggested above), though. Contact SteedaTech here on the forum and he'll help you figure it out.

Yes, delrin bushes are the issue, you need to use lots of energy lube grease to keep it at bay, but if you drive it daily all weathers the noise shall return.

An easy test is re-fit stock links, if noise goes away, then get some vertical links with spherical bearings.

I had this issue as I had BMR Delrin/spherical links, a few weeks after install the car sounded like an old ship wreck creaking, I re-fitted stock links no noise.

I contacted BMR who were totally amazing and shipped me out replacement spherical bearings for the delrin bushes free of charge all the way to the UK. I got the spherical bearings pressed in and I can happily say one year later car is still noise free and 8000 miles later.

BMR superb service, contact Steeda they may offer similar or let you replace them for some spherical versions.

This is not true at all Gibbo. I drive my car all year round with snow, salt and everything. I used the grease that was provided according to the instructions and have had them on my car for over a year and 20k miles. I've never re-lubricated them and have never had an issue.

Lucky for you . Bmr originally told me they would replace the Delrin with spherical , as well as provide the bolts mine didn't come with. Then they said to sell them and buy some spherical vertical links. :tsk:

I don't want to sell someone anything with noise especially since I slightly trimmed the Delrin at the lower mounting point to expose the metal sleeve for the bolt (was trying to see if the Delrin which was thicker than the sleeve was being squished when tightening and causing the squeak).

Anyhow my theory is that the Delrin bushings are affecting the motion of the rear suspension setup. The spherical will allow movement of the mounting points slightly given they can rotate etc so the angle of the bolts may slightly change as the suspension goes through its motion. I believe the upper arm and lower arm have different mounting points so as they travel through their range the alignment changes.
The Delrin bushings are where the issue arises where they don't flex at all at the bolts and as the car is lowered the motion of the arms is affecting the mounting point bushings and my guess is that's where the creaking is coming from. At least in my case. I'm lowered on coilovers and have the bmr lockout and adjustable camber and toe arms from steeda. I've tried lubing everything and no luck. My next thing will be to 'clock' the bushings at the control arms. If this helps or solves the issue I will likely go spherical at all points and spherical vertical links as well. Just hope bmr will be willing to change my Delrin out. I honestly think I'm right about this .. I will know very soon. I would've done it today but we got a snowfall

Old in car noise in the summer last year.. downright embarrassing driving slowly in lots the squeak was unreal .

Outside of the squeak.

After switching back to stock vertical links . Now this led me to believe it was the Delrin vertical links .. which it was .. but I believe the oem vertical links is what is allowing the suspension upper and lower arm to move within their true range of motion by flexing at the bushings.

I wonder what bmr and steeda have to say I hope they might think it's possible. Definitely more of an issue for lowered cars I think vs stock which is why stock height don't get noise (I know 2 people at stock height with Delrin and no noise).

I will definitely post when I can solve this.
