I by no means think the EB has the best sounding boosted I4, but I'm pretty happy with my MF competition catback.

I honestly think its just because they did things a certain way to get the power output whey want that sound wasnt a #1 priority. No catback is really gonna make this car sound that different, the only thing that would make this car sound different would be a different manifold.
Is there a way to get rid of the manifold or is it welded on to the block?

Don't know the mechanics of it, but the turbo kits that replace the stock twin scroll turbo sound more like 'traditional' turbo 4 cylinders from the vids that've been posted...

Found a picture of the head in MAPs thread and looks like integrated in the head. Maybe somebody could make a new head and make it like a normal 4 cylinder head.

Yes, it's all cast as one piece. If you're concerned about sound, seems like a turbo swap would be much easier/cost effective/realistic/timely than building an all-new head that will be limited by the stock turbo anyway...

I already have a traditional 4 port head for our Mustang. *whistles away*

Is it just a Mazda 3/6 cylinder head swap?

I'm curious to see what needs to be done to make it work!

This isn't the proper thread for that discussion. However, so there isn't a discussion created about it we won't share full details until it is on our car. We have to test our ported head first.

CPE exhaust looks loud, get some videos up!

sounds clips coming
I just drove 2 hours home from the shop and I must say at cruise it's more tame than my Magnaflow Street was
if you open it up though, HELL is unleashed
I LOVE this exhaust!

Not really feeling it tbh. Needs like another resonator or something to get rid of some of the rasp. Too loud for my taste but if you like loud this is it lol.

agreed
I actually like the sound
it's no louder when driving on the highway than my Magnaflow was
but when you decelerate or obviously open it up - the gates of hell are unleashed

it's a race exhaust, doesn't exit the body and isn't intended to be quiet at all
optimal flow and weight reduction is the target here
and I do think the target has been crushed:cool:
