Good evening,
I know all of you are way ahead of me from a mechanical aptitude stand point, so I have 2 questions.
If you replace the transmission and add the cooler and use ForScan to turn on transmission temp do you get a read out?
Number 2 and I can't find where but today I read that Ford performance has a differential cooler kit coming out soon with wiring that bypasses Computer but has a switch that enables the circuit but flows only when temp hits a certain level, does that make sense and is this something you have heard Of?

You can get a trans temp readout now through ForScan with the Tech and Base transmission; the sensor is there, just not enabled at the factory.

Like you, I've only seen the reference to a factory differential cooling option through the posts today. Without temp data and not knowing your driving plans, its tough to say whether it "makes sense." Tranny cooling is far more of an immediate need than the diff. But, if you plan on regularly doing 30+ minute track runs, plan on addressing the diff.

I think a lot of folks will go the "factory" route with the diff, and hopefully some skilled and dedicated members will figure out the harness and sensor needs so we can get a diff temp read out.

I like to disassemble things.
Certainly! The "old" transmission is a great unit and much improved over the MT82 in the regular Mustang GT. It'd be a great swap to replace a well worn MT82 in an '11-'17 GT.

Any idea on fair price for used tranny with less than 1000 miles?

There is a member asking $2000 for his. That seems very reasonable since list on a new one is over $4000 and you can't buy them.
