Ever since a couple months ago, I've been wanting to install a rear facing dashcam. I've searched all over the internet to try and find solutions, but couldn't find one that was close to what I was looking for. I saw another thread with a solution but required disassembly of the back seat and drilling screws into them, which was not what I wanted to do. Lately, I've come up with my solution to this problem. I 3D printed a mount that would use double sided adhesive to stick onto the top of the rear seat. It doesn't hinder with the opening and closing of the convertible top, and requires barely any installation apart from running wires to the back to connect the dashcam. Please let me know your thoughts!

I posted the files for 3D printing on MakerWorld for those interested in printing one. I can also set up an Etsy listing to help print it for those who don't have a 3D printer.

Received one looks fine can't say how it fits as car is put up for the winter. I like the camera on the license plate but have been procrastinating on how to get the wire inside. We have two dashcams, better to be safe, so I will still be able to install one on the plate. Fast shipping and I think a reasonable price.

Just had a friend of mine print this mount out or me. I was wondering how you mounted it to the seat. I'm a bit reluctant to use double sided tape to secure it as I don't want to damage the leather.

Not what I would have done but if it works and you’re good with it then that’s all that matters. The only thing I would say is tuck that wire away better

how would you mount it?
Can’t say 100% what I would do without looking into it but I probably would have done the license plate frame camera and run the wire into the trunk through the grommets by the spare tire and then to wherever I needed to go from there.
