I would add that if you're parking outside, spend the money on ceramic coating. I haven't, as mines garaged, and I don't mind putting polish on it. I also use 303 Fabric Guard on the top spring and fall. It does a great job of keeping the top clean as it aids water (and dirt) shedding off the fabric.

I do appreciate the feedback. I feel better about getting a vert. While I don't have a garage, the car stays under the carport and is not a daily. I will have to see the trunk space since my road trip companion is female. While I can pack for a week in a large carry on, she uses a large suitcase, a small roll around, and 3 medium carry-ons.
I'll have to see how my claim goes. If I order, I'm considering the new color Mischievous Purple.

Looking forward to seeing the purple and the new green on the verts.

I rented a '18 or '19 S550 while in Florida for a week and had a '15 convertible a few years before that. I was very impressed with how quiet they were with the top up. Very. No HVAC issues what so ever, but it was mid winter in Florida, so not too hot or cold. With heated/cooled seats (leather) you'll have even more comfort.

I've been running mine in Florida heat for 3 years, you won't have cooling issues with the top up (though I would recommend getting a windshield shade when you park it in the sun for an extended time). The heated seats and steering wheel are great with the top down in the winter, and the cooled seats will at least keep you from sticking to the seats with the top down in summer.
The wind noise is minimal, even with the active exhaust on quiet and the radio off. It's probably not as quiet as a hard top, but it's very livable. It's definitely more civil than my 95 convertible was. If the cabin is still too noisy for you a healthy sampling of Dynamat (or a more reasonably priced Amazon alternative like I used) will make a noticeable difference in cabin noise. FWIW my wife stole my car for her friend's bachelorette last weekend, leaving me with her Cadillac SUV; I didn't notice a difference in cabin noise.

Im wanting to get ceramic coating but I also need some paint correction first and together that will be expensive. For now, I do have a reflective sunshade for the interior and I bought a cleaner/protectant set for the top.

I missed the S197 generation, went from a 2003 Terminator convertible to a '16 convertible. Was stunned at how much the folding top mechanism and other things had improved. Trunk space is nearly twice that on a New Edge, and the folded top doesn't fill a "well " behind the back seat (that used a good chunk of the trunk space). And the top folds so that only the outer surface of the top faces up toward the sun. Totally eliminates fading on the inside of the top. The windshield header fully covers the visors, so they dont get sun blasted, either. I thought they'd fixed most of the bad stuff on convertibles with the New Edge. I was wrong. These are even better!

I have seen two sets of pictures of Eruption Green, in the sun and in the showroom. When my wife asked what colour it was (the outside shots), I replied, "Eruption Green, and it looks like something that erupted from someone's stomach." Now it probably looks better in person, and the indoor pictures looked way better. And to that point, I actually like how my RC looks in the evening over in sunshine, so I'm probably biased.
