A guy I used to work with was a big Rush fan, and we got on the topic one day. I did get him to conceed that the signer's voice is not for everyone. LOL

As far as Tom Petty goes, American Girl is a great tune, but for top down driving in a 'Stang:

Running Down a dream (if you are driving fast)
Free Fallin' (if you are just cruising)

Yeah, don't get me wrong, Rush has some talented musicians, but something about the lead singer's voice that just grates my nerves. He's in the same style as Petty but there's a feminine quality to his voice that doesn't sit well with me.

I gotta go with "Mary Jane's Last Dance" as my top down Petty song.

Fast driving Petty song..."I Need to Know", "Runnin'..." or "Refugee"
