Stock pads are fine. They are not thick when new. the cracks are normal. I an hard on brakes and have never had any problems. Not saying I would not consider others, just not concerned about the stock pads

I grabbed one of those pads and put the micrometer on it measuring the back plate, then the back plate with the pad material.

Here is the “Mid-Ohio” track. The spot that you are ready going fast (140 mph) is into # 7. I usually get on them hard and can "Smell" them.

I wouldn't be afraid to run those for a weekend at Mid-O. But I always bring spares.

It's hard to tell from your photos on how much bevel is left on the leading/trailing edges. If the bevels are close to being gone then change them. Wish I could remember how much meat is on a new OEM pad, but I seem to recall about 10mm. If true, your measurements indicate about 8.4mm remaining.

I'd run them and keep an eye out for missing pieces between sessions, and be ready to change them. You should be traveling with spares either way. Put the potentially suspect pad on the outside caliper.

Having said that, Mid-O isn't particularly hard on brakes. IMO something is wrong if you're cooking them going into 7.

Ok guys, thanks for sharing your experience and knowledge with me in regards to my situation with these front pads. I'll track down another set of OEM front pads.
Thanks again for the education and enlightenment.

I log my pad thickness every event. I lost 2mm thickness average last event. So that is 3 events, and maybe stretch to a 4th.

Your photo looks like there is a lot left to me. The bottom of the groove is 3mm I think. That is pretty much the limit for getting another full day out of them.

Another approach is to take your set of "Is there another track day in these?" as spares to the track. You can put those in during the lunch break when there is extra time. Then you won't be putting a full day on them, and you can measure them again when you get home.
