Livernois offers free tuning updates. You'd need whatever controller your local dyno used to do a dyno tune, however. But yeah, give livernois a mod list and they'll give you a tune for it.
I had to go back and read my Pm's,it was meth they couldn't remote tune for. They said they SHOULD be able to remote tune for race gas. I had stuck in my head no custom remote tuning:frusty:eek:h well if i decide against meth and my Cobb tune doesn't perform the way I want I'll sh** can it and get the livernois tune. Thanks:thumbsup:

Your concern is understandable. The crank is a solid piece from the factory. The piston and rod combo is something to be more concerned with. We have already discovered this by tearing into several 2.3LEB's. We have already developed a rotating assembly for the 2.3!

This kit utilizes our custom forged piston and forged I-beam connecting rod in conjunction with the forged 2.3L crankshaft. The kit includes all the pieces needed to build a fully forged 2.3L Ecoboost engine.

The pistons include heavy duty thick wall wristpins as well as a stainless steel top ring. These components are designed specifically for this boosted application. The pistons have thicker ringlands, increased crown thickness, thicker skirts and skirt struts as well as reinforced pin boss.

This package lets you build a 2.3L Ecoboost that will handle whatever you can throw at it and keep coming back for more.
what is the gear on the crank for? Balance shafts?
If so are you deleting them so that gear can be removed when balancing the rotating assembly

It appears very similar to the MZR;)

I'm almost positive they said in another thread that it was for the balance shafts. It also seems like Livernois or someone said they was working on a BS delete kit too.

Edit: 04SloSnake tree'd me on it lol.

exactly
so if purchasing a "built" short block, the BS can be deleted and that ring gear can be removed from the crank

Awesome:cheers:

It'll shake much harder if you do that, just an FYI.

While all engines are different, I've done his on all my past 4G63s and it wasn't bad at all.

We've deleted the balance shaft assembly on our EcoBoost. There was almost no difference. I have to give credit to the stock motor mounts, they're very good at absorbing vibrations.

BTW did anyone else notice the thin black plastic vacuum line going into the motor mounts? Yes, the EcoBoost comes with vac assisted motor mounts.

It is unfair that people say our "glory run", "suckered", "fooled" or "made" them purchase a car.

You cannot complain about your specific results when you have never even purchased a single part from us or run one of our tunes. We did not "make" anyone do anything.

Buy our parts, run our tuning and adhere to what we prescribe...you WILL see results!

I would venture that 80% of my decision to buy my car was based upon what you did with yours. That is a fact, and I have no reason to lie. Like the OP, I figured 10's were an easily obtainable goal based on what you did with your car and mostly stock parts. After talking to you, I did not get the impression that tune was going out to the public.

So, maybe saying you "suckered" people into buying these cars is a bit dramatic. I will concede that. However, your videos have sold quite a few cars, I guarantee that.

Unfair or not your video was a huge push for me to get the eco mustang also.
I think your tune will get results, however it doesn't offer me much flexibility for putting together future mods.i want to retune as I go.
Understood, but to try and blame us for not sharing our success without patronizing us makes no sense. And that is what we find frustrating. We we are here to try to provide all of the support for building the best and most reliable vehicles on the street, strip and/or track.

We know that our tuning, bolt-ons and internal upgrades will produce great dividends. We offer tons of flexibility. We can retune for almost any major upgrade that you make at no extra cost to you.

How do you retune with the use of datalogs for the car? I'm seriously curious about that.

I bought a Cobb AP, but the only things that kept me from buying your tuner was 1) I wanted my tunes to be optimized for my car. If I lived closer to your shop (within 4-5 hours), it wouldn't have been a big deal and I'd have came in a had a dyno tune done once all my mods were on there. I didn't know you could retune with datalogs for the different mods. And 2) I have 15 gallons of MS109 in my outbuilding and would love to have had the race gas tune, even if I would have had to have signed a waiver that said if I blew it up it was on me, but people said that you guys were sternly against releasing it because a lot of people doesn't have access to VP fuels.

I have still been contemplating switching tuning devices or purchasing an additional device, so any info or insight you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Mike, we did not hide the fact that the "glory run" as you call it was for validation only. It is a subtitle in the video. We feel that getting into the 10's will be an attainable goal as well. But, as everyone knows we are restricted by the lack of an adequate fueling solution for the platform as a whole. Even with some of our other record holders in the EB category we struggle with the same thing. We hope that the 2G of the EB platform will allow us to further advance the fueling system. We are and have been working on a solution for this, but it is far more involved than most people assume.

I apologize if you feel like you were pushed you into a decision. But like I have said before, run our tunes, use our parts, and subscribe to our regimen. It is not fair to speak negatively of us whenever you have patronized everyone but us.
