Compressor surge after HKS BOV installation (SOLVED)

Hi everyone, so I recently installed my charge pipes from MAPerformance along with the HKS Blowoff valve. Installation seemed to go straight forward until I reached the very last part of the process. I cut the vacuum line that was shown in the installation video and attached the tee that connects it to the vacuum line on the BOV.

Problem is that now I'm getting flutter that I can hear from the cold air intake instead of the actual blowoff valve. Blow off valve doesn't seem to make any noise at all. I'm not sure if I cut the wrong vacuum line but does anyone have any suggestions?

In addition, I left the sensor that was plugged into the stock BOV unplugged. I'm not sure what to do with it. Also, I left the cold air intake opening where the blow off valve would recirculate, uncovered. Should I cover it?

When do you hear the noise? Mine seems to do it at lower RPMs and from what I understand that's sort of normal and not harmful. If it were to flutter at full boost that's another story. I believe the larger intercooler plays a role as well.

Interested to see what others have to say on this matter though.

I have a Tial QRJ on my Eco and it flutters when I'm not in heavy boost. It should make the psshhhh sound when you let of during high boost and if it flutters during high boost check your vacuum line. (Mines came off so it fluttered all the time till I fixed it) and it when it flutters it does sound like it comes from the intake side for me also.

Can you post a picture of how you have your vacuum line set up? I cut the existing vacuum line which was made out of some type of plastic and attached a tee to it. This vacuum line was connected to a 90 degree valve behind the intake manifold area.

Same here, fluttering sounds like it's coming from the intake side and it occurs during low boost.

You should cover the tube on your cold air intake. You can check if your vacuum line is correct when you remove it from hks bov and put your finger on the tube. You will feel that it is sucking your finger and your engine will sound different(like timing is off) when its not connected to the bov. I hope this will help. Based on what the tech support of turbosmart. It is normal to have flutter on low rpm 2500 and below but on 3k up you should not have any flutter.

Cover the hole in the intake where the BOV hose went, yes cover that back up.

Thanks for the photos!! So I got it to work. It turns out I cut and used the wrong vacuum line haha. I then used the vacuum line pictured, sealed the intake hole and it works perfectly now.

I do get some flutter but it's very minor and like someone said it flutters below 3k.
