I have read several post confirming the trans thunk is normal and adjusting driving style helps.
I did some researching and some say the blowfish mount helps too.
Has anyone had any luck reducing if not eliminating the thunk?
Car has 1 piece CF driveshaft and Barton shifter

How bad is your drivetrain backlash thunk on a scale of 1-10? I get it in mine too, but only notice it during low speed maneuvers. I also get a loud bang on occasion, which Iā€˜m sure is driveline related. Best way to describe it is it feels like the driveshaft or differential hits the bottom of the floorpan. This doesn't happen all of the time, but has happened on more than a few occasions in the 2600 miles of driving I’ve done so far. I’ve been underneath the car a few times inspecting things and don’t see any witness marks from where anything is making contact. I am still running the two piece factory drive shaft.

I would call it a 10 as I think there shouldn't be any thunk. Car only has 16000 miles.

I changed the transmission mount to the Boomba Street Spec mount, https://www.boombaracing.com/mustang-transmission-mount-60d-street-spec/

I also added the shifter bracket, https://www.boombaracing.com/2015-ford-mustang-v6-ecoboost-shifter-assembly-bracket/

I also swap for the BG Syncro shift fluid, https://www.opmustang.com/store/p4/...II_Synthetic_Gear_Oil_-_MT82_Kit_.html.html#/

These additions helped with the cluckiness of the transmission significantly. Once the car reaches normal operating temps, it shifts wonderfully. I've never experienced a lockout at high RPMs and shifting is smoother and has a more solid feel.

Since you mentioned you already had a baron shifter, I don't think the 2nd bracket is relevant. The trans mount and fluid change might help though.

Thanks! Previous owner said he changed the fluid. I just ordered the mount. Hopefully that helps.

Hope you have similar results. Below is a pic of the 2 mounts side by side before I replaced. There will be considerable less "flex" in the boomba mount. I did notice a little more noise but it's minimal and after a couple drives I don't notice it. Good luck!

Thanks for the help. We'll let you know how it goes. It's already shipped but I am in Germany so it will take a few weeks to get here.
