I would like to replace the retainer rings for the Ford performance axles.
I can't get my axles to stay in.
I know the axles are much thicker than stock.
Anyone have a part number?
Or do I just bend them a little?
That's what I was thinking as well. The directions are fairly good. You can tell that some of the descriptions they spent a little more time preparing referencing specific part numbers. This one not so much. I also found the same instructions further in the install manual #139. Been a couple...
Anyone who has installed the Whipple 3.0...
Step 64 install supplied electronic throttle pigtail to the factory connector...
It's the only step without a picture or a part number.
Help!
Car is in neutral, parking brake on
Move the driveshaft and the half shafts both move about 1/4 inch. Looks like just the inner and not the whole shaft.
Find it hard to believe this is normal. Possibly bad CV joints on both sides?
Torsen differential with 3.73, Ford performance halfshafts.

McLeod RST 26 spline
1000 miles
From my 2017 Roush Stage 3
Was returned to McLeod to be checked for imbalance (was getting CEL for multiple missfires).
Returned with no issues found.
I swapped in a different clutch instead of waiting for this one to come back.

Yeah if it's the tune then I need to find a new tuner. Current tuner says nothing that can do. It's from one of the big companies...I just need to find a local tuner willing to spend time on tuning my car and not a canned tune for the masses...
I hear a miss at idle. No CEL. Tuner says nothing wrong.
I do get a random missfire flashing cel every once in awhile.
New clutch and trans. CF driveshaft.
Multiple crank relearns
New plugs. No change
Switched coils. No change
Switch gas stations No change
New crank sensor and relearn No change...
100% know this is your vertical links. They have to be tightened with the load of the car. Meaning you have to jack up from the lower control arm, loosen both bolts and retighten. Bushings have to be preloaded.
Thank you for the detailed write up. I have yet to actually measure the backlash with a dial indicator my conclusion is based on rotating the driveshaft about 1/4 of a turn before it engages the axles. It is significant enough that causes a thunk while driving while shifting and especially...
Thank you. You actually already sent me it. I will review again. Life got in the way and just haven't had the time to dig into it and also completely forgot that I have already asked this question....thanks again!
Let me preface with saying, I have little experience in rebuilding differentials...
I have two 8.8 rear differentials with excessive backlash and would like to attempt on adjusting. From my research I have found adjusting back lash is accomplished by moving the shims from the passengerside and...
2017 Roush Stage 3. Truely a problem child....CHT hit 260 during track day. Engine pulled power. Drove it home. Now notice the Temps during normal driving over 200 and spike up over 215 if getting on it. Not normal for my car. Car had the 170 thermostat. I took the thermostat out and doesn't...
