Dropped off and waiting at my local dealer.
Giving a wide berth to other cars, best spot I could find.
Weather is looking bad, hopefully no hail.

Sensor alignment issue? Bad sensor. Ive experienced random activation in other cars it's dangerous.
I agree it can be dangerous, it’s a bit of a catch 22 because it saved my ass from a small bingle in my Golf 7R while somebody was ringing me but on the other hand it malfunctioned at least once in a Bunnings car park and locked up the brakes but luckily nobody was behind me.
In my Mustang I haven’t messed with the settings and it has never actually activated for me but I have had the warning come up a few times when driving enthusiastically but I have been able to overide it will the accelerator or brake.

FRIDAY UPDATE - You guessed it, still not fixed.
Apparently it wasn't the Park/Neutral Switch after all.
This time they think it is the Clutch Inhibitor Switch, not sure why.
Must be the next cheapest item to replace.!!
They just don't get it, it only happens when the car get's to operating temperature.

Now have to wait for the next part to arrive next week and try again.
Another week without my Mustang.

Did try for a Customer Service Car, what a joke that was, nearest one availble was Byron Bay car hire, 3.5Hours drive at my own expence and time, for probably a Hyundai hatch.!!

Seems like quite a saga, hope they are technically on the ball.

Did you mention the possibility of a Traction Control Sensor / Diff issue?

Although, If it is Temp related - it could be a faulty Temp sensor (engine or G/Box), falsely indicating critical Overheating - thus tripping Limp Mode.

Steve,

it can happen on a straight road, no bumps, with a large yellow Road Work sign on the edge of the road.

Sometimes just "Collision", other times anything, then followed by Limp Mode.

Dino, If it is a Faulty Sensor, it wont matter what the road conditions are - it is faulty, giving faulty readings.

Have they tried re-flashing the CPU - Software Problem?

BTW, If mine is anything to go by, the Collision Warning does NOT induce Limp Mode - so it could be a case of correlation not causation.

They have Reset all Fault Codes a few times and uploaded some software updates.

Limp Mode only ever occurs after a few Collision Assist activations.
My guess is the PCM.

UPDATE - 3 switches replaced now, just had the Clutch Inhibitor Switch replaced.
Test Drive this afternoon, much the same, Limp Mode did not go to reduced power this time.
Ford technicians from Brisbane checked it over yesterday, assured me it was the Clutch Switch.....
Another week without my car again.!!

They did offer a Courtesy Vehicle from EuropCar, a Hyundai i30, I said no thanks.
Not sure how a 4 door sedan with 4 Cyl engine and Auto is supposed match my Stang.?
