Anyone done/planning to install a cold air intake unit?
Like the look of the Airaid Unit & would appreciate any advice

Once I see more results I might go with the GT350 intake manifold, throttlebody and air raid setup, looking good for around 460-480BHP and will cost around £1500 shipped which is not bad for around 50BHP increase and new rev limit of 7500rpm. :)

We have a Roush cold air intake on the way over for a customers car (V8 Auto) - will let you know how that goes. (£369 inc VAT if anyone else is interested + £66 fitting)

Best bang for the buck is to go with the GT350 set up. The car seems to like the new intake and throttle body with great gains on the dyno.

CAI is a waste of time on most cars. Replacement filters are normally the best for better figures

But CAI look and sound great so depends what your goals are
They need to be mapped for the best gains. A CAI on it's own like you say, is a bit of waste of time/money.

Keep me informed.

I like the sound of this as having driven the car for 1000 miles now and realising just how easily you're into proper prison-time-type speeds, I feel a supercharger might be a bit silly. It feels hamstrung on our roads with just the 400-odd BHP nevermind the +600 a SC would give.

Yeha but imagine how quickly you could go from 58 behind a lorry to 150 infront of the 10 it was following :thumbsup:

In my humble experience, unless you're going to track it, all power upgrades will give you is increased tyre wear, fuel consumption, cooling issues, warranty worries and pub bragging rights.

With 400+ bhp stock from the 5.0 Coyote you're never going to extract it all on the road anyway.

In the first instance, if you want to go faster - make it lighter. The cheapest performance mod you'll ever make (though you may lose half the interior doing it ;) )

i took out my front passenger seat and left the backseat for weight over my backtires. gf rides in the backseat and i can turn up the radio when she starts nagging too much.

IMHO I think that the 400+ bhp in this car is easily usable on the street. My goals are just full bolt-ons, that of which I'm only a couple of weeks away from. adding a lil extra kick to it never hurts. I would worry more if this was the first introduction of the coyote, but it's been around long enough that I don't see why having a good 500 ponies at the crank is going to hurt anything. It's nice to be able to take it to the track with that power and see what competition it can beat out too.
