Looking to upgrade the stock suspension and was curious if a good shock & strut combo would be good, or if going with coil overs is the way for daily driving. I only ask because I’ve never had a good coil over setup.

For daily driving, you don't need more than a quality set of shocks/struts + springs.

If you can somehow swing (and justify) spending $4000+ for street performance, of course a set of coils (MCS, Ohlins, JRi etc) will be better than any shock/strut combo.

Ansolutely a good spring paired with Ford Track shocks is all you need for a daily driver. Cheap coilovers cheap out on the shocks and thats the critical element for ride quality and control, while expensive coilovers are overkill for a daily driver unless you’re going to fiddle with settings often.

I can say from direct experience Fortune Auto damping is marginal and their setup advice is frankly utterly wrong. If you want to spend 2000 or less go bilstein or steeda pro action with straight rate springs. You can get both of those in coilover config.

Otherwise spend the 4000 or more and get the good stuff.

I will be gutting my 1 week old FA dampers and revalving them properly.

to be fair traditional shock/struts should be rebuilt every 20k miles or 3 years too. It's just that they can't be rebuilt (not easily) so people who care are forced to re-buy new units. If you run traditional struts, toss them at year 5 unless you have no miles on them.
