Uhh. Ill swap it for $3k labor plus long block cost.
Damn, your in CA.
Call Chris White Bear Lake n get a long block quote?
Was that Whipple tune? Which revision?
91 octane?
Maybe someone on forum has CA mechanic hookup?
Some dealer techs into modding and active in community will do side work so ask around?
Totally hoping the best for you.
At op, if you need a short block aren't they under 2k new?

No other mods except the whipple stage 11 kit. Tune is the newest one that they had sent me. Fuel is ca 91 with boostane.

Sorry for your bad luck and what I have seen that kills these motor is long hard pulls(like 1/2 mile pulls),not warming motors before boost and low octane fuel.JMO

Sorry to hear that. It could be just a blown head gasket but most likely it is ring land on the piston. Don't see many engines go on the whipple tune. It is very conservative.

No I meant it sucks that I have to replace the shortblock after only 7087 miles. There goes 10,000.
Yea that's the risk you take with these motors on boost unfortunately. But look at it this way, now you get a new built motor and you won't have to worry about adding power down the line.

I had a 95 with a built motor pushing over 900 to the wheels and it sucks to have to pay attention to every little noise. I did not drive it as much because I was always worried about something breaking. I know these motors are better so I will keep my fingers crossed.

Yup I'm the same way, I'm scared of every little noise now that I'm nodded, that's why I ended up going with the edelbrock this time for the warranty. I've blown a few motors in previous years, things happen tho you can't control.

Don't let that stop you from enjoying your car tho, it'll all work out
