Well, Calypso Coral was exactly the same as Competition Orange back in the 70s. Back then, CC was the Ford color and CO was the Mercury color.........but Ford borrowed the name CO when it came back for the SN95 and S550

True. But this new color looks to be even more red than the S550 CO. A buddy's '16 GT/CS is CO, and never looks as red as this.

Yes, although it's exclusive to the GT500 in terms of Mustangs

I was hoping the new owner of a brand new GT500 CFTP from Baltimore was going to post some pictures of the one he bought at Ourisman on Tuesday evening...

Here’s my base Code Orange. Have owned competition orange mustangs in the past. It’s very similar.

I love mine, it's a nice update from comp orange, and looks great with dark trim.

Picked up my Code Orange early december and its a gorgeous car. It certainly is difficult to grab the true color of it in pictures but in person is pretty unmistakable.

Is this a faux R? To my knowledge, there were no comp orange GT350Rs.

It is not an R, I believe you are correct that there were no comp orange R's made

Great comparison. I’m glad someone was able to put them side by side. I have owned both colors, but seeing them side by side makes it much easier to tell the differences. Thanks for sharing.
