Nothing is wrong with asking. OP like me are trying to make a decision on which route to go and he's asked for opinions. A limited quantity doesn't mean that someone's opinion is invalid. There's track-record, features and current performance that are viable considerations.
Next year it might be different but today there enough information and experience to help someone trying to decide.

If this thread is so dumb then try adding something of value.

Look guys I started this thread for a question on which of the two. I do find the "R" word offensive, as it has come to have a begative connotation in today's society. My daughter is a special needs teacher, so I respect what she does, in helping those that a lot of people would turn a blind eye to. the word is offensive.

NOW back to the subject.

Back to the subject, we are and have been at the forefront of the EcoBoost aftermarket since 2009. We undoubtedly have more performance support for the S550 than any other vendor. We routinely set records and hold claim to several firsts. The reason why we do not offer a flashy tuning interface is because the items that are monitored have really poor PIDs therefore do not provide you with accurate info. We know EcoBoost tuning better than anyone and do not need a log to build a tune. We can refine the tune for almost anything that you would like remotely.

^ Back to the subject, would be the conversation of Cobb vs Bama. As the OP stated. Not Livernois trying to heist yet another thread.

OP, if you went with the Cobb would you eventually have it protuned once the tuning software is released?

If yes, I recommend the AP based on many of the extra features. If no, and you just want to get a custom tune on there and be done with it, go with Bama and the SCT. Nothing wrong with the AP and OTS tunes, but you're just leaving power on the table.

Without knowing your reasoning for those choices it is tough for anyone to help any more than that.

Look, no offense because I think you guys do good work, but the OP specifically said only cobb or bama for reasons he didn't want to expand on.

Your name was initially mentioned by somebody that nuthugs so hard that I actually wonder whether or not he lets go when you guys have to use the bathroom, or if you just have to work around him.

Do both companies have multiple performance tune options and can they be changed on the fly. Are additional tune or changes included with both options?

For example. I always put 94 Oct in the car so would use the 93 tune. If I'm in an area or situation without 94/93 can I instantly switch to the 91 tune (I think Cobb does this)

If either come out with newer tunes that push out more hp/tq do we have access to those (paid or free)

One of the things that struck me as a little odd is that Cobb told me (through email) that CAI has very little impact if any over stock but BAMA is claiming significant gains with a CAI.
If I go with COBB is a CAI useless?

The map switching is device specific. If the SCT X4 offers it, then Bama can make use of it. I don't believe the SCT offers map switching. I'd love to be corrected on that though. Bama could definitely provide multiple maps for different fuels, though they may not be able to be swapped on the fly.

As for the CAI, that is for several reasons. One is because the Cobb tune is not customized for the CAI. There's more to it regarding the Cobb tune, but that is the simplest and most concise summary. Something that Cobb themselves would best be left expanding on.

I'm also doubtful that you'll see much more than 10HP from an intake when tuned. User results across the board are showing just about that when comparing tuned stock, with tuned+intake. The only results I've seen showing more are from shops selling intakes.
