Do you guys ever smell the clutch significantly after hard runs? Before you ask I can drive and don't burn the clutch. What I find odd is no matter how I shift at high rpms if I stop I can always smell clutch pretty strong. You think maybe it's slipping under power and just can't hold it?? Surely not

My clutch failed at 1600 miles. It has been an issue Ford knows about...some get good and some get bad. After replacement I have had no issue including many spirited runs and dyno time.

I drive my car pretty hard and never smelled the clutch. Is it slipping at all?

I've smelled the clutch after some hard runs too... seems like if I take it through first 3 gears all the way to redline

I'm wondering if mine is slipping under power. It feels like it might be but its hard to tell. Let's just say when the tires are warm it won't burn them in 3rd at all.

Normal driving, went from 4th to 5th - went to floor never came back up. Shut off car and got it into 2nd and putted home. Took to dealer and disc came out in pieces.

What exactly happens when it's slipping? Because sometimes i feel like mine does in 2nd-3rd when i accelerate. Im not accelerating hard either, usually up to 3k RPM, but it'll feel like i got off the throttle just a little bit shortly after i let the clutch out from shifting 2nd to 3rd even though I'm accelerating and keeping a steady foot on the accelerator. It does it more when the engine is cold, not so much after a driving for a while and everything is warmed up.

Yea I posted a question about a strange smell after hard driving and got that it was the clutch. Im the same way, don't burn it or anything, can drive as well. It will really piss me off if it fails or whatever the guy above is talking about.

The consensus of my post, was that the guys said my aftermarket exhaust was causing the cats to produce the smell. Not sure though.

I've got that exact feeling under the same conditions. I attribute it to a combination cold clutch and cold engine stumble. Goes away fairly quickly every time, so I'm not too worried...
