Varekai,

Would brighter running lights help? (You have a dark car on dark roads...and old ppl)
They would, I would love if they were a bit brighter. Or if I could get the sidemarker LED's to stay on like at night without having to keep the headlights on.

At the rate people are cutting you off or pulling out in front of you I would invest in brake mods LoL.
If only I had the money I would have had the PP to begin with : /

Nice wire routing. What are those clips called. Must see if I can get some here.
Only clip is the one by the door, which honestly I probably don't even need. I can mail you the rest if I can find them. Other then that one the wire is just pushed into places and zip tied in two spots under the glove box.

It's hard to tell how fast you are going in those videos, but just a suggestion that IF you were well above the speed limit you are just asking for people to pull out on you like in those videos. People don't pay enough attention to realize you're approaching way faster than they think you are, and hence pull out thinking you're not going to get there that fast. I've learned this on motorcycles, and if you don't realize that on a bike you eventually end up in the hospital or in the morgue.

As I've said before I was going roughly 50-51 mph in a 45, so no not doing the speed limit but not exactly flying either. It appears that I'm hauling due to my wide angle lens and wide angle settings in the firmware, and that most being about 60% of other people in the area generally do 5-10 under the limit.

Doing 50 in a congested area, even if the speed limit is 45 is somewhat "dangerous" for the very reason you captured on camera. Boneheads can be pulling out at every junction, and giving them opportunity makes it even worse.

Spring Hill in Hernando County. All old people.

The first guy I got next to while holding the horn, the both of them just turned and stared at me with the most dead/blank expressions I've ever seen. Almost like they were upset I didn't hit them.

Second one the guy must have been in his late 80's, all I saw was the back of his head. Yup, the whole time he was going across the road all I saw was the back of his head, he never once looked at oncoming traffic.
What if you look over at the old person as you pass cussing him out and it was your grampa driving? Some of us screw up sometimes, but we all get old. ;)

no offense taken because its true, I do not take my Lexus IS to chinatown if I can. One time I went there I had the most hits on my dash cam in the shortest span out of any part of the city ive been to

You might want to look at your driving habits before posting of others. Crossing the solid white line, not staying in your lane making a left turn.

Sheesh.
http://classicgaragedfw.com/do-you-know-the-difference-between-the-lane-markings-in-texas

http://www.texashighwayman.com/laws.shtml

Double White Lines. Parallel white lines indicate that changing lanes or turning across the lines is prohibited. Doing so may be dangerous or interrupt the smooth flow of traffic.

Single Solid White Line. This is used to channelize traffic and indicates that changing lanes is discouraged, although not specifically prohibited. You can cross it if you have to, but you should avoid it if possible. Even a thick single white line can be crossed if necessary; however, they are really discouraging you from crossing, so you might think twice about it. A single white line is also used simply to mark the right edge of the roadway.
also review the footage again when there is a double left turn lane going into a 3 lane feeder where my footage occurs. Only the right of the turning lanes has a stripe to go to the outside of the 3 lanes, the left of the turning lanes splits into 2 - the left and the middle of the 3 lanes. Big vehicles here cannot make that left turn into the left of the 3 as well

Not that this thread is "driver's ed" or that I claim to always be the best driver or anything... But the posted speed limit is irrelevant when those around you aren't following it. The flow of traffic is much more important in terms of accident prevention. If traffic is flowing -10 mph and someone else is going +5 mph, you have a recipe for unfortunate events.

Um, I've read it and you still are just as bad a driver as those you film. Glass house baby, glass house.

My grandfather doesn't live near me, but if it were him I would call him and tell him he needs his license taken away. And that's not a lie either. I've told that to my mother after she got in a fender bender while putting on makeup while driving. Screwing up because you get old is one thing, that guy was sheer ignorance, if we are referring to the second guy.

A bit off topic but the exhaust note in the OP videos is great! Love that sound.

I'm seriously considering driving with my headlights on during the day around here. The number of times I've been cut off by someone pulling out from a side street is astounding. People just don't look or pay attention it seems.

I was going 5 miles over the limit. Other's around drive 5-10 miles under, that's why it seems so fast. It is a common problem in spring hill with all the elderly people that they drive 35-40 in a 45 zone, same speed on US 19 where the limit is 50.

I had to register for an account when I saw your location. I grew up in Spring Hill right off of Mariner behind Spring Hill Elementary School. The drivers in that town are god awful and it appears they haven't changed in the 13 years since I've been gone. On top of the generally low speeds that they drive with, the worst part to me is their lack of reaction time. I don't know how many times I almost got in an accident because these old people were not fully aware of where they were at on the roads and what was happening around them.

That's pretty much right by where I live. I'm down the road right next to the big blue church across from the fire station. And no, nothing has changed, if anything it's gotten worse since you moved. It used to be lot's of kids/teenagers, now it's more and more elderly as the teenagers move and the people up north move in to get in line for the big waiting room in the sky.
