Pick up a “slightly used” cj manifold that came with a CJ65 tb. Didn’t realize at the time of buying that the previous owner had actually messed with the idle set screw :curse:. Was just wondering if anyone had any input on how I should get the set screw set correctly. Many forums say to start the car and unplug the tps, then set the idle speed from there but I’m assuming that really only works on old generations. Thought I’d attempt this anyways and sure enough once the tps was unplugged, the car idle like ****. Thought about adjusting the screw but I don’t want to mess with it anymore than the previous guy did and I highly doubt that it would change the way the car idles with the tps unplugged. Might be a long shot but has anyone removed the set screw and kept track of how many turns it took to remove? Also if this thread isn’t in the right place just let me know and I’ll move it asap!

How do you know it was messed with and is it causing issues?
