Chrome ring around cup holder

ok, I have a 2016 Gt premium, and I hate the chrome cup holder ring and trim around shifter, I want to wrap it in black, however I do not want to just reef on it to take it off and I cant find a video on how it comes off, anyone remove the ring before? does it just clip in or do i need to take it all out and un screw it from under the console, ?

I did a painted cover. Would have preferred to refinish the original but I do believe that the the entire console has to come out. Not 100 percent

The center console is fairly easy to remove. Just be sure to remove the shifter bezel from underneath, not above.

Inside the center arm rest, the sides pop using a trim tool. I can't remember if you need to remove the center console cover or not (I don't think so)

Then in the footwell, you need to pop out the two knee pad covers. Nothing special... just tabs like most trim pieces use and should pop out easily.

You can then work your way to the middle where the shifter is and lift it up. You can then pop out the shifter bezel from below, remove your shift knob, etc.

The e-brake handle leather is attached using a zip tie you'll need to cut.

They sell a carbon fiber one online. I have one on mine.

I'm honestly not a fan of carbon. I want just a nice satin black. and no one seems to offer that, so i was going to just wrap it

How good are you with paint application? I'd not paint the chrome personally, but I would paint ABS...here's an ABS product with a surface I'd be okay with painting...as opposed to the OEM ring.
