Saw pretty much the same thing in a Road & Track newsletter.

According to Motor1, even the V8-powered LT1 isn't going to get it, and as the least luxury-oriented V8 trim that'd be the car to keep it in.

how many track rats would buy the 4 or 6-banger to begin with out of the population that buys the 4 or 6? Probably a miniscule percentage. No demand, no offering. "If we build it they will come" didn't materialize.

A buddy of mine who 's a pretty avid "track rat", was raving about the 1LE Turbo 4 a few years ago, using terms like balanced, affordable, a "great overall package", but when I questioned who it was for, he kind of just shrugged and said something along the lines of, "Yeah, it's a great answer to a question that nobody asked".

He drives a Porsche, so maybe he's a little more inclined to appreciate a 4 cylinder, track focused, muscle car.

it's a shame they didn't add the MR suspension to the package like you can get with the EcoBoost PP/Handling.

I'm sure current 4/6 1LE owners are salivating at the prospects of their value appreciating even more so than the GT350. Afterall they are rarer, right? And being discontinued, their desirability can only go up.

Btw - this car weighs around 3,300lb stock.

MR would push the cost up and although there is a lot to be said for a 3,300 lb car for some applications (autox), most people who go for the 4-cylinder are probably doing so to keep costs down.
