Check under the seat everyone

I have Ecoboost Premium seats.

I noticed this rust under the seat on my car.

Everyone I have contacted so far had the same issue with rust. Can you guys look into this as well? Takes 10 seconds to take pic when you get into your car tomorrow. I think it maybe something to raise awareness to Ford.

I have 450 miles on the car and it was built in March 2015.

From what I have heard from others, my car is in "Excellent" shape compared to other Mustang seats.

good find. No telling what that will look like in a decade. Although by then, I suspect the airbags will be even more problematic. If you drive an old car, don't crash :headbonk:

If it sits by water, by design they should have selected better rust resistent material. I think having this kind of rust on a car that hasnt even seen rain y day can be a sign of poor material selection IMO.

Underbody is covered under warranty for 7ish years because they treat the surface to last at least that long. I really hope they are not hiding anything heart attack worthy on the underbody :eyebulge:

can't imagine any problem on the underbody unless you live in a region that salts the roads in winter.

I have never checked these sort of brackets on my old cars, but if they develop a lot of rust over the years, that would be a safety issue.

If FORD will run these cars for 2 production years with drunk UAW's putting these body panels on in the dark, do you think FORD is concerned about a bracket under your seat?????

That's normal. Just surface rust. Look under the seat in about any car and you'll see similar

this is surface rust....reason.. wen u open ur door.. say during rain.. mist ,fog.. high humidity u witch on ur ac.. many factors lead to this...now as far as better materials...yes it can be done but the more process involved and more refinement with come with more price... then all of us showing off 5.0 and eb.. will be way beyond our pockets

Agreed check any car and you will find this bit of surface rust, you would poop your pants if you saw the brackets in my 87 Camaro but the seats are still perfectly solid.
