I picked up my brand new Mustang from the dealer a couple of weeks ago and have been tracking down this weird sound, sounded like a screw rolling/wobbling around on some of the stamped steel (trunk floor, deck lid, etc.). I heard it when turning mostly, but occasionally under acceleration. I didn't have the time to drop it with the dealer yet (nor the real desire) and I came across a thread where they found a spare lug nut under the rear seat. After discovering how easy it is to remove the rear seats, I just popped it up at work and found this stud completely free under the passenger rear seat.
Any ideas what this belongs to so I can possibly track it down and make sure this one is an extra? What comes to mind is a manifold stud or something, but maybe someone is familiar with this piece of hardware somewhere in the vicinity of the rear seat? If not, I will eventually take it to a dealer, if I have to.
