I have a 2017 Mustang GT, and I'm wondering if there's any way to change the delay the paddle shifters have on them? Is there some tune or anything you could do to make them respond more instantaneously?

I have not been able to find an intentional delay in the cal. You might notice that they respond quicker at heavier loads, which makes me think the response is related to line pressure. You can change the line pressure in the cal but I haven’t tried it yet to see if it improves response.

I remember when I used to own my BMW 335i, it was a 2009, however as soon as you bumb the shifter, it would switch gear almost immediately. Even people who have driven my car noticed that when you hit the paddle shifter, there's about a one or two second delay before the change

Yes I find it very annoying as well. I have noticed it’s much faster when power is on. The stock cal raises the hydraulic line pressure with increased input torque. I don’t know if this is why. I modified a cal to include raising line pressure at light loads for a single gear to see if it helps response. Should test it within a few days.

Mine are pretty close to instant, and under heavy loads the transmission shifts hard and fast. The higher the engine load the faster the response / harder the shift.

No way it's a 1-2 second delay I'd lose my mind.

I'm AED tuned and not stock fwiw.

I changed the trans hydraulic pressure for one of the up shifts in alt mode and it made no discernible difference. Transmission tuning really is a rabbit hole so I think I’m going to put further Experimentation off until later.
