Question for everyone... my car is scheduled to be built on October 13, but it's still just "in processing." If I switched my color now from Ingot to Magnetic, would my build date be delayed??

If you're not sold on your color, make the switch and deal with the extended wait. A few extra weeks to get what you want is better than regretting your decision for the lifetime of your ownership.

My advice. If it delays it at all its way worth it compared to always wishing you did.

Can I assume you just saw the recent pictures of the lucky sob who just took delivery of his magnetic? Man is that just the best looking color on this car!

You are correct, sir! I still like the silver quite a bit, but this Magnetic is absolutely stunning.

I'm going to call my dealer and ask their advice... I already have the performance package and literally dont want to change a thing on my order except the color, so fingers crossed that it can be done without a delay.

I agree, navyIS98, that is a stunning color but the silver is pretty amazing as well. :)

I'm glad to see you're going to check with your dealer; they're in the best position to assist with this.

I can tell you that once vehicle orders are received at the assembly plant, the order in which the vehicles will be built is at the plant's discretion. The key goal is to arrange production scheduling so that vehicles with similar features and options are manufactured in one batch.

So basically, it will depend on the current order at the assembly plant.

Hope this helps; feel free to reach out with any questions. And let us know which color you decide to go with. :)

Magnetic looks great and really reflects colors well. It's weird to me how all these 'real life' pics of the S550 by regular people look better than the studio type setup then post processed shots we see for advertising etc.

Navy, I have a silver gt with PP on order as well. My build date is supposed to be 10/13 too. Leave your order alone, so that they can build ours together that day. How easy will that be for them. They'll knock ours off in a few hours first thing in the morning. :-). I like the magnetic too, but the silver also looks great, so I'm sticking with my gut first instinct, which is Silver! The black wheels plays off the silver really well (in my opinion). Plus I don't want to even risk the dealer screwing up my order, now that I supposedly have a build date.

Hahaha, yeah I think it was just a knee jerk reaction to the pictures Terminator posted today. His magnetic car looks incredible!

Anyway, I just talked to the inventory manager at my dealership and he said there's no way to know if changing colors would set me back until they actually changed it in the system. I'm not willing to risk that since we're only 13 days away from our build date, so I'm going to stick with my original gut instinct and go with the silver. I mean, no matter what color, this car is going to be gorgeous.

That's awesome that we have the same car and build date, Codog23! Keep me posted if you see any progress on COTUS or from your dealer, and I'll be sure to do the same.

the silver looks great every time I see it in pictures. I love this car in any color!! I picked Silver for the ease of keeping clean as well. My current mustang is black and keeping it clean drives me crazy. I had a silver one years ago and it was so easy to keep clean.

Yeah that's exactly why I chose silver too. I had a black '05 GT when i lived in LA and it was a nightmare to keep clean.

I live in Philly now and have a dark blue Maxima... it looked AWFUL during the winter from the salt all over the roads.

my goal is to keep this car off the roads when NJ is covered in snow and salt. It will be on lock down in my garage! ;-)
