Changing center oil gauges lights

I am in process of the changing the LED lights to red. I did test out the LED I bought and they are not bright like the factory. So I am ordering new ones that are brighter. Next is the cluster.

Also, the center oil gauges do have the my color led (blue, green and red). I wish we knew how to enable it. ..

Can't speak to the LEDs you are selecting, but may I suggest you follow proper ESD handling techniques for the electronics you handle.

Electro-Static-Discharge (ESD aka static electricity) wreaks havoc on electronic devices, especially active components like what appear to be several on the Printed Wiring Board (PWB) in your picture. For proper handling, the PWB needs to be placed on a grounded, static dissipating mat and should only be handled by someone grounded, usually via a wrist-strap or ankle strap.

The discharge of static electricity damages components internally causing them to fail, or worse yet, degrade, such that they exhibit intermittent failure, of fail later in the field.

Unless you plan on following proper procedures or are willing to risk failures, I'd recommend using a professional in the business, and make sure they know what ESD is and employ proper procedures.

ABSOLUTELY! You're spot on! The insidious aspect of ESD is that it can induce latent failures. Just because your card worked when your reinstalled it, doesn't mean it won't fail due to ESD effects sometime in the (maybe near) future.

I'm an EE and we can't even enter the production areas without suiting up in a conductive shop coat and heel straps. To get with in 1 m of a circuit card, we need to have wrist straps. Seems overdone to the uninitiated, but this stuff goes on airplanes. Best that it doesn't fail . . . .

I'm guessing you could find a small 3-channel LED driver that would let you control the intensity of each of the colors to get the combo and shade you're looking for.

I went ahead and jumped the rgb LEDs and applied voltage with my meter and all of them turned red. But when j installed it in the car it turned blue. Didn't even changed out the regular cool white LEDs. I just removed them.

Blue is better than white. I keep it as it is.
