Too bad we can't customize the center console display like the GT-R...I wonder if this can be done with Mirrorlink and Torque Pro... Thoughts

I know it's not the same, but I run an OBDLINK MX and put whatever custom guages that I want on an Android 7" tablet

What app are you using on the tablet Tomster?

Unrelated, see you have a 17 R ordered, congrats:thumbsup:

It was the one that came in the OBDLINK MX documentation. It's called OBDLINK. Search for it in the Google play store.

I've had the R ordered for a while and finally got confirmation that it's legit.

Sure. How about tomorrow? I just got a suction cup mount off Amazon and the OBDLINK MX Bluetooth reader. It's not a permanent setup, but instead used when I wish to monitor various systems not normally available

What about CarPlay or AndroidAuto? Seems some 2015/2016 GT350 folks have been able to update their nav:

I don't pretend to understand the capabilities of CarPlay or AndroidAuto, but would an OBD app be able to display on the Nav screen? Or do only certain apps have capability to display on the nav screen?

I don't think that any of the ODB reader apps work with Android Auto or Car Play yet. I am also hoping that they will add the capability; this would be the easiest way to for it to work.

I don't know if this is still an issue but the sample rate on my lexus was pretty low so if you wanted to monitor a lot of different things they did not update that often.

So if it had a sample rate of 28 it could update one sensor 28 times a second. But if you had 2 sensors monitored they each would only update 14 times a second, 4 sensors would update 7 times a second etc.

Id like that new digital dash though...

Still 4 gauges at 7 times a second is more than I'll be looking at it.

Yes, I'm waiting to see what problems there are when the first member tries to install the digital dash.

I got around to taking a few snap shots. I was a little busy all day driving the '97 Cobra with the top down to burn off some gas and top it off again (taking advantage of the sunny 80 degree weather). Gotta love ethanol....

Anyway, as you can see it is just a simple setup. I don't know why you would need anything more than this. Personally, the gauges that are available on the selectable instrument display most of what you need.

What I do like about the 7" Bluetooth tablet and the OBDLINK app, is that not only can I configure a gauge for any parameter I choose from the menu (and there is a lot of them), but it also doubles as a data logger if I wish to add gauges to GoPro videos.

Keep in mind that the gauges can either be analog or digital (fully user configurable) and can occupy multiple pages which are selectable by swiping back and forth from page to page.
