Last Thursday, after I started my car (GT/PP with 22,000 miles) to leave from work, the CEL came on. The engine sounded fine and power seemed to be the same. I took it to the dealership the next day and they found a P0308 code (cylinder #8 misfire more than 100 times). So, the replaced the coil pack and the spark plug. Cool, that took care of that... until yesterday.
Once again, I left from work and at the approach of the first stop light, I down shifted a couple times and as I was almost stopped, (transmission in neutral), the car stalled and the start button light was flashing. After starting it, the CEL was back on again. WTF!
Now, full disclosure here - I honestly can't remember if I just forgot to take it out of gear when I was almost stopped and then it stalled or I popped it in to neutral as I always do, and then it stalled. But it happened so smoothly and the car didn't sputter or anything, it just quietly died.
So, I'm going back to the dealership Saturday to find out what's up. Anyone else having similar issues?
One more thing... The service manager said that TSB's are no good after 12,000 miles. Is there any truth in that?
