When I installed my passenger side catch-can I filmed it to help folks who might not have ever turned a wrench before. No wrench required for this very easy install, but sometimes a visual still helps. :)

It's been on our Facebook page for a little while but now that it's posted to our website it seemed like a good time to finally share it here:

Just curious, has anyone ever pulled a drop of oil out of drivers side catch can?

I installed a bobs catch can yesterday on the passenger side in the new R, but debated weather its worth it to install the drivers side.

I've never heard of anyone pulling any oil out of the drivers side.

I've installed Bob's on the passenger side and a Ford Performance separator on the drivers side.... Drivers side remains clean..... even after being driven hard.

And for that reason, I never bothered to install the bob's drivers side catch can. I don't think I am going to either.

I agree... Most likely, I will be removing Ford's oil separator for the same reason.

On the side note.... Bob's separator is outstanding. It actually collects more oil than my Moroso oil catch can.

Yes, agreed. I think I need to call lethal performance and see if I can swap out the drivers side for another passengers side.

Edited to add: what a great bunch of guys over at lethal. They say there shouldn't be a problem swapping out the drivers side for another passengers side (for the next R that is coming).

OP, thanks for this post, it got me off my ass!

I only get residue on driver's side with Bob's, but I also note the smell coming from the catch can. There is filtering going on there.

I had Bob's before, they are much better than anything I tried on the market.. I now have FP for the OEM look, and it has not even captures a smear of oil on driver side.. I removed it.
My passenger side was barely a drop inside after 2 track days and about 3000 miles.

This maybe naive, but is there any potential issues with only running one side versus two? I am not mechanically gifted in any sense of the term, and someone had mentioned it to me before ... something about unequal pressures or something in the case, or something like that.

No, most people just run the passengers side because the drivers side usually doesn't catch oil if the can is installed.

Well, if you don't run a can on both sides you'll likely have some smug jerkwad comment that "you're half-assing it" when you only run a passenger side can. The internet, lol.
