Happy birthday to a legend and thanks for my GT350! I am glad he got to see the S197 GT500 before he passed. What a stunning, and to be honest, groundbreaking car.

If someone was using my name, not paying for it, and doing something to make money or sully my name, I'd damn sure sue them.
Last one he gave input on was the 13 GT500. My son has one. Almost 100K miles on it now.

That would have been an interesting conversation especially with how fast these cars are from the factory and can legit be put on a track. Goes for the new 500 as well. Nothing like them previously.

I would have loved to hear what Carroll thought about the ‘15-‘20 GT350… the most track worthy 350 made to date!

I believe he would have been proud.

Actually you are incorrect. It was Carroll who made the decision that Ford would build the 350 long before the car was produced

Only because he owned the right to the GT350 name.

Well, That's obvious. But he knew his legacy was better tied to Ford and knew the engineering capabilities of Ford. He also had a key member of his staff who went back to Ford to oversee. So, regardless of the ownership ultimately he made the choice to manufacture the GT350 at Ford. To say he wasn't involved is not correct

Most of that development was done after he died, so not really. He didn't choose to have Ford build them, Ford asked him if they could use the name again.

Carroll made the choice. That is personal knowledge. I will leave it there

Thanks Luc,
You have turned this birthday celebration thread into complete Shit… well done!
You have earned the titile of Twat Waffle.

I missed what he said. I have never known him to be anything but a twatwaffle with a twist of jack wagon, all rolled into one. I hope he was finally banned for crapping on a thread (again) and disrespecting a man who we all owe a sincere dept of gratitude.

Every once in a while, a well crafted forum reply mutes the onslaught of negative debauchery.

Thanks Tomster,… I owe you one!

Thanks again Mr. Shelby for your vision and execution… we are all enjoying your efforts decades later!
