It is smooth with no texture but, unlike a glossy finish or what you would experience with window glass or a piano finish. I believe the matte finish goes really well with the finish of the rest of the interior and provides a more luxurious finish.
hows fit around edges? any lifting or fitment issues? Also the matte looks killer, really need to look into getting a set for mineHad a quick couple of minutes between conference calls... just the right amount of carbon fiber once I have the Shelby Gauge Pod added! Will check the actual fitment this evening but, I am very pleased at this point of the Matte Look :-)
looks really well done at first glance. I will be doing a more thorough testing fitting this evening but, I don't anticipate any issue based on what I see.
How is the Matte finish holding up? Are you still happy over the traditional gloss?Fully Installed and very pleased with the results. The last piece of Carbon Fiber will be the Shelby Gauge Pod. Although, it is a gloss carbon fiber piece because of where it will be located I think the gloss will be better; especially, here in Phoenix.
Holding up perfectly. I am using a Chemical Guys interior product with ceramic properties as a cleaner and protectant. The Matte finish looks great with the interior and is much more subdued. Lots of compliments! I also have the Shelby Gauge POD and am just waiting for my next service to have it installed.
Overlay or full replacement?
Similar to you, I'm contemplating both. At first, I was thinking it's gotta be replacement. However, the Forgitec overlays looks so darn good that I wonder why should I rip the dash apart and hope it all goes back together okay. I am going to try Forgitec overlay. If I'm not happy, then I may try Trufiber replacement.
My car doesn't come in till Jan/Feb otherwise I'd seriously consider buying right now:
