I was thinking about getting the sct tuner for my mustang. I have never tuned a car nor do I know exactly what it does, I guess it gives more horsepower?. Does it void the warranty and also does it effect anything if ur car is an automatic? Thanks in advance

With respect I suggest you stay stock and spend a lot of time to research tuning and the various companies that offer tuning services. There is way more to learn than what anybody can tell you. The best tuner is 100% a matter of opinion and people will tell you the tuner they use is the best.

Yes a tune can improve engine as well as automatic transmission performance.
No a tune does not automatically void your warranty. No modification will void your warranty, but a failure caused by a modification may not be covered under warranty.

Yes I'm not exactly car savvy but I thought the new mustang looked sick so I got it. The whole modding thing is new to me. I got the borla exhaust system That's probly as far as I'll go. Don't want to ruin the engine or anything

i doubt that it will ruin your engine, but who knows. there's always a risk with modding/tuning.

this is actually part of the reason i got into a mustang.

my last car was a 2011 subaru wrx. aftermarket support was huge (mustang aftermarket support is EVEN BIGGER)

soon i got hit with the mod bug. after all was said and done i had full bolt ons and was on E85. on the stock turbo I was getting 349awhp and 370tq @ 19psi boost. it couldve done more but the stock clutch slipped when we went 20psi.

with all that being said, the car was reliable as hell and did not have any issues. hell it didnt even burn any oil by the time i sold it @ 80+k miles.

my issue was that i was worried that running the car at 100+hp per cylinder, the engine could blow any moment (the car was notorious for blowing rod bearings or piston ringlands)

then i discovered the mustang GT. stock engine puts down more power than my modded 4 banger. i was sold.

the only mods it needed was tint and an exhaust, done. i sleep like a baby knowing that it's fully covered under warranty and that it's pretty much bulletproof.

now the problem is i really want a full ARH headerback system and CAI so i can get 450 to the wheel, but that's another story.

Oh OK thanks. Yea I think I'm not going to tune it because it has more then enough power as is for what I'll ever do with it. I don't plan on racing or anything. So I'll probly just do the exaust and call it good

Does anybody know what size box this exhaust ships in? Will I be able to fit it in the trunk to take to the muffler shop?

You'll probably have to take it out of the box and lay down your back seat, but you should be able to get the new exhaust there.

Now getting the old one home is another issue....if you plan on keeping it.

So that's the old exhaust right? And the box next to it is what the Ford racing BOrla exhaust comes in?

I think if I put the seats down in the back and slide the passenger seat all the way forward maybe it will fit

Did you go with Borla directly, or Ford Racing (by Borla)?

IMO, touring may be too quiet. But we all have different tastes/preferences.
