I ran a canned SCTx4 tune for the last week and was pretty impressed with it overall. I could really feel a good increase in low torque and pull thru the RPM. Today I reset back to factory and Installed a Steeda tune. Now I've never had anything but good stuff from Steeda but I almost feel like the canned SCT tune pulled harder. It could all be in my head or maybe it's less throttle response but I almost swear the canned tune was an instant improvement and after the Steeda tune it feels a little more delayed. Does the computer need some time to learn maybe? The canned tune was noticable imeadiatly and I don't feel it needed to learn at all. Is it possible the SCT tune is more aggressive or pulls harder then a Steeda tune? Again , I love me some Steeda parts but swear it feels like I took a step back...

Have them turn up the throttle response and datalog for them. That's the good thing about a custom tune, they can customize it for what you like. Datalogs help them see how things are running and they might be able to get more power out of it too.

Could also be that you're more used to it now so the difference isn't quite as drastic as if you had just gone from stock.

I have noticed the difference between the canned 93 tune and the Steeda tune. I think the canned tune throttle response is a bit more aggressive. It felt that way to me at least. I've datalogged both tunes on different days but under similar conditions. It was the closest comparison I could get, but the tunes seem to focus on different parameters. It seems the canned tune just focuses on maximizing ignition timing. The Steeda tune seems to change more of the valve train timing. This might not be right, but that's what it looks like in the datalogs with a 3rd gear WOT pull. Both are quick, but the canned tune did seem a hair faster when comparing the timestamps in the datalogs. Steeda does tune on the conservative side, because they want a safe tune. Maybe the canned tune is less safe for the engine long term, because it is more aggressive with the ignition timing.

Good to hear you noticed it as well. I was thinking even if the canned tune is a little more aggressive is it at the expense of being less safe? I trust Steeda leaps and bounds over the canned tune and it does pull hard just not as must instant power as the canned.....could be just a throttle response difference. I like power but want safe power , I was hesitant to even load the SCT canned at first as I worried Abit about it's safety. I'll add an intake possible down the road and a ported TB , maybe some headers and let Steeda have another crack at it
