It was a pretty easy application. I wanted to get a coating on before winter since I daily drive mine all year round. The local municipalities are not shy about using salt around here
Daily driving in Chicago?? You are brave for doing that in that city during winter.

At least my vert is my daily in Denver. We get snow but it never lasts.

They look great. Are they all actual vents or are some fake?
Only one is open (the one closest to the windshield) the rest are closed off and just for looks. I would’ve preferred that they’re all open but it is what it is. Air Design makes them for Ford as a dealer installed option so they have a Ford stamp on the underside of them. I prefer to use Ford parts when I change things out so that was a big part of why I went with those.

Yeah most of the time it’s not too bad. Luckily I live out in the suburbs and take the train into downtown for work so I don’t have to drive it in the city. I wish our snow would melt quickly but it does get pretty cold here. Ice can be a problem every now and then. Luckily I grew up driving large rear wheel drive cars here so driving a Mustang in the snow is no big deal for me

LOL. I grew up in MI and if we had to put our toys away come winter we would never get to drive them! Most of us didn’t even use snow tires. 😱 Quick question. Have you ever heard of Nexgen Ceramic Spray. I read the review https://carcarereviews.net/nexgen-ceramic-spray.php and this stuff looks awesome. I’m going to give it a try on my wife’s new RX450h. After all, I don’t want to experiment on my new ride when it shows up probably Jan-Feb. I think it would look great on the dark blue also. I’ve used CG in the past and actually just put a coat on her front bumper and the backs of the mirrors this morning. Wanted a little protection for a road trip to the beach next week.

Haha yep, same here in Chicago. Gotta drive them all year. I have heard of Nexgen and my dad actually bought some and we tried it on one of their cars. We did all the prep and everything and that stuff didn’t hold up at all. We did it in early June and by August it wasn’t sheeting, beading or anything (and he washes their cars regularly so it was properly maintained). We ended up putting Adam’s Graphene Advanced coating on his truck and my mom’s car. So, I wouldn’t recommend Nexgen.
Edit: for short term protection Nexgen is ok. But for anything longer than a month or two I would say skip it and go with something else. Turtle Wax Seal N Shine is a good alternative

thanks. Will have to try the Adam’s I guess. I’ve used Chemical Guys for years with hit and miss success depending on the product. But since my new ride wonā€˜t be garaged I’m looking for something a step up.

Yeah I used to use Chemical Guys and had a similar experience. Adam’s claims 7-9 years on their Advanced coating and the application is pretty easy. The prep is the hardest part and even then it’s not hard, just time consuming.

I realize we're off topic....all but one ion our vehicles are coated with DuraGloss Enviroshield. Just because I haven't gotten to one of them yet. Great products...

Oh believe me....I followed right along! When talking, my wife will often say "oh look...a chicken" because I veered off topic...

Thanks guys. I noticed it as well on my 2021 GT, never heard those noises in my 2019. I didn't bother me to hear it when I "woke up" the car, but I was surprised to hear it randomly in the garage when messin' with other cars.

I ceramic coated the Grabber Yellow 'vert but honestly, I don't think it's all that. After a few months I clay-barred the entire car and without bothering to polish any further, applied a nice coat of wax and the car looks much better. You could argue that the ceramic lasts longer, but honestly, waxing the car every few months is not a great hardship, and did I mention that it looks better?

I don’t remember my ā€˜16 V6 making a bunch of noise but my ā€˜22 GT does. I really noticed it as I was ceramic coating it on Friday. I think it was just begging me to take it for drive LOL.
Did you do the Ceramic coat? I've always wondered if its hard to mess up. I've done waxing and all that stuff a lot so if its hard to mess up, I'm sure it would be a breeze for me. If its easy to leave streaks then I probably would not do it myself.

I did it myself, 3rd time I’ve applied a coating myself (did both my parents cars). The two I have experience with, Adams Graphene Advanced and Ethos Graphene Matrix V2.0, are easy to work with. The directions both provide are spot on, so if you follow them it should be no problem. Two towel method (instead of just flipping to a dry side on the same towel) works better in my opinion. They have a long enough working time (2-3 minutes) that it’s hard to leave it too long to create high spots.

From what I've seen, you apply, wait and then remove it right? For someone with some knowledge of vehicle coatings it seems pretty hard to drastically screw up. I don't want to pay $2k to get it done and I could care less about doing paint correction on what is already pretty flawless paint.
