Must be a sensitivity adjustment screw somewhere.
There has to be one somewhere, I just haven't been able to find it. The closest thing I found was a tiny button on the little flashing green light thing. All it did was stop the green light from flashing :/ I'm just going to take it to the dealership and see if they could teach me how to readjust it.

I thought there was a sensitivity setting in the instrument cluster? I'll have to check mine when I get home
Can you confirm when you get home please? I still can't locate it. My work around has been to just manually press the lock button when I leave the car parked at work and it's been good so far but ideally I'd like to use what I paid for.

I have a GT Prem with the Enhanced Security Pkg. I thought the enhanced package just covered the motion sensors for the interior. Mine has only gone off once when I tested the interior motion sensor. I thought it was supposed to chirp or make some sound if somebody got to close to the car, but that sure doesn't happen. I've given a pretty hard bump to the exterior body and it never set off the alarm. I'm beginning to wonder if I have defective security system...
My alarm would go nuts if I gave it a hard bump. I have to turn off the alarm before closing my trunk every time lol

Is it the perimeter plus system? The description says "Adjustable, 2-stage shock/impact sensor". You didn't get a user manual?

I actually never thought of looking there to be honest but since your response I took a look and there's no info on sensitivity adjustment. I'm not sure what the technical term is for it- they just called it an "active alarm system" but from your description, it sounds like a shock/impact/sound/life sensor [emoji23]

It is not the enhanced security package. When I bought the car, they offered the passive alarm system, or the upgrade to the active system. I chose the upgraded active alarm system.
So it didn't come from the factory with this upgrade? If the dealership added something, was it a Ford accessory, or some other aftermarket accessory? Couldn't really tell exactly what this is from what I've read so far.

There are no "sensitivity settings" in the information display menus for the factory alarm, regardless of which factory alarm it is.

From the Ford factory? No. It's something the dealer added. I actually don't know if it was OEM or after market. They were being a little sly and it was also about 11:30pm and I just wanted to come home. It looked like a little computer chip. Almost like a fuse even. A two pronged power plug if you will. But it was about the size of a quarter.

But now it's just too sensitive. I've been trying to find resources that would help but I can't seem to find anything on the situation.
I'm pretty sure they all come with an alarm, man. I think you got taken.

Perimeter alarm is listed as standard equipment.

Part of me is starting to think that too but then why is my alarm the only one out of a group of mustangs (I.e. Super car Sunday) that goes off when any car revs?

They definitely added something for sure.

They probably added some kind of shock sensor. They should know if there is a sensitivity adjustment on it or not.

Definitely. I'm taking it in to the dealershop on Monday - I'll report back my findings then.

Okay...so......I totally forgot to have my alarm checked out at the dealership when I took it in to check something else out on Saturday. Oooops. *sigh*

But I think I might've figured out a work around - though I could be wrong. I just lock the car from the interior door lock button and walk away without actually pressing my remote to lock the car. So far around work, it's actually worked and hasn't gone off as easily.

I believe it also adds the locking center console.

My weedeater sets mine off. Whenever I do yard work I have to remember to unlock the car or it will yell at me every time I rev the Toro.

I had the random activation problem, too. Have the dealership adjust the sensitivity. Basically, ask when the "alarm guy" is there and he will fix it.

The car comes with a perimeter security system (motion sensors). The optional ESP locks the center console and steering column. This package also comes with the locking lug nuts.

The shock sensor feature is from the aftermarket KARR alarm the dealer already installed and persuaded you to pay for when you got to the Finance department. :ninja: When you bought it, someone simply turned it on. (The whole KARR alarm thing can be a touchy subject among many. We did indeed pay too much for it in hindsight, but oh well , not sweating it)

Please do not deactivate it. Someone tried to break into my car (I suspect they yanked hard on the handle or tried to smash a window or something) and it scared them off. I was in a hotel in a sketchy neighborhood, and when I heard the horn (90% of the time you hear those beepy Roadrunner horns so I knew it was mine), you bet your ass my buddy and I ran downstairs to investigate. By then just the lights were flashing. There was thankfully no damage. :clap2:
