Cannot Jump Start

Hey guys,

I was trying to jump start my 2017 S550 GT (MT82, 17000 miles) over the weekend. After everything hooked up, I pushed the start button, the engine did not crank, but was having this clicking noise, and the headlight were flickering at the same time.

I am suspecting it is a starter problem? But I also learned that the starter is not easy to break under 100,000 miles. So before I call the mechanics, I am just wondering if it is something I can fix myself, or at least identify the problem.

that usually means low power on jump pack or bad connections or batt is really dead and needs time to build charge.

Went through the same thing this weekend. Just clicking and would not jump.

New battery in there and away I go.

If the battery has a cell that shorts out and loses internal continuity, jumping it won't work.

that usually means low power on jump pack or bad connections or batt is really dead and needs time to build charge.

Thanks for the information Ock! I will recharge the jump pack to see if it works this time. If not, it seems like I need to change the battery then.
