Have you cut spliced new plugs at the track or does the little harness plug into the plug itself?

I need to acquaint myself with some of these fixes at the track. Have had multiple CEL for thiese type issues.

I haven’t spliced one at the track, but you totally could. The replacement kit has all the parts - just need pliers and a lighter!

@honeybadger couldn't you fill the opening where the wire goes into the plug with some kind of epoxy to keep it in that end of the connector?
I‘m not sure that’ll help much. The problem is not the wire coming out of the plug, but they fatigue to the point of failure and short out (put simply, they break)

Where can I find this kit you are speaking of to fix the plug connectors for the cam shaft position sensor? Also have ever had something like that ever just cause a single cylinder misfire. I having an issue with cylinder 7 constantly misfiring but just recently start running/idling a little rougher when I started get the code P0390 which is for camshaft sensor bank 2 & P0394 is camshaft sensor intermittent bank 2. One plug is messed up some and I was thinking that could be the issue but it’s always been messed up. And the plug on coil pack 7 is broke a little but it still locks into place just fine so I didn’t think that could cause a constant misfire. We have a 2020 mustang gt.
