Bought a modded s550 with Calimer tranny and Mantec clutch. If I come to a stop, it’s really weird the car won’t come out of first gear unless I shut it off and turn it back on. And if I let my foot off the brake with the clutch disengaged it wants to creep forward. It doesn’t happen all the time.

Something is binding. Probably a fork.

Sounds to me like the hydraulic line has a bubble or something not allowing the clutch to fully disengage

Never. Only happens when creeping to a stop. I engage the clutch and leave it in first. I guess it’s just my driving habit then I generally throw it in neutral while the car is stationary. For what it’s worth previous owner said the Barton shifter was mounted directly to the transmission.

Does sound like the clutch could be dragging. Answer Austin's question, or with the gearbox in neutral. Start the car, then try to put it in 1st, my guess will not go in gear easily'
clutch not disengaging completely, gearbox still spinning.

"And if I let my foot off the brake with the clutch disengaged it wants to creep forward." clutch not disengaging completely, gearbox still spinning.

Another suggestion check Mantec clutch website see if there is anything there regarding clutch drag & possible adjustments/ suggestion.

For instance

As you do not know who did the install. That is a hell of a nice part. Quality parts require specific installation procedures.

Shifter gearbox mount has nothing to do with the problem as described.

Weird that the clutch is grabbing enough to inch you forward but it’s not hard for you to put it in gear. Does it grab really low in the pedal travel? I’d make sure the fluid is topped off, bleed it, and go from there.

And yes gearbox is clunky at best. Lots of noise from Calimer upgrades which I love the noise. But certainly thuds and clunks when going into gear. But smooth at WOT

The pedal travel is great. But clutch definitely drags intermittently. Also failed to mention prev owner built it let it sit for a year before I bought her. Ive put maybe 200 miles on her since I rook delivery

Yes, the sound is a clunky BEAST. Don't know the gearbox, but square cut gears do make music, thrash....
