Anyone have a ben calimer built transmission?

Did you wait until your transmission broke to send it in?

After the rebuild any noticeable difference positive or negative?

Anyone broken one?

I'm considering sending him mine soon and would love to hear some first hand experience

If you are referring to the MT-82 I would send it to Adam Browne at Revolution Auto in Maryland. He has a few years experience building the Getrag with excellent results.

Alex had his built at Revolution, same process that Ben does and it broke again, now he is doing a T6060 swap. But they seem to last for others.

What broke? IIRC Liberty has a gear set for the MT-82. It might have just been a cryo-treated stock gear set however.

He said third gear this time, originally when it was stock 4th gear was the problem.

But he is also at 700rwhp.

I sent my trans to Ben when I started having some issues. Came back perfect and haven't had an issue since.

I only did the Stage 1 as I couldn't be w/out the car for 3 weeks and I have no place to go FI, so I wasn't worried about supporting extra power.

It's hard to quantify the difference as I did a McCloud RXT and MGW shifter when we reinstalled it...

Ben has said his stage 2 can handle up to 800whp. I don't know if I'd want to try that though.

Yeah I chatted with him today. I'm thinking with fuel system, e85, more boost I'll be over 800rwhp maybe 850

I have a Calimer stage 1 MT-82 in my road race car. About 20 events on it so far, no problems. I do also have a transmission cooler setup. Best money I've spent. My previous car, 86 Foxbody, had a Toploader...it spewed fluid first time out on track
