so I've been looking for a CAI for our v6 stand but there isn't much out there, I found these two:
Airraid Synthaflow Oiled filter 450-327
and the
Aired Track Day Dry Filter 450-331

both of these are at americanmuscle.com. but my question is which one should I use? Is there a difference between these 2 other than the almost $70 price difference? I'm a noob at these and I really want to get the best out there for my car.. thanks in advance!

The Track Day (450-331) version is meant for track use only where as the Syntha... filter versions are meant for daily driving use. Honestly I think the big difference is just the type of filter being used.

If you can wait a few more months there should be more CAI's available from other manufacturers such as JLT, BBK, K&N, etc.

Also, Roush has a great Cold Air kit. $349...They make great products of course, and Roush has informed me that it's great for everyday driving. The track day Air raid, is NOT suitable for every day driving and is subject to allowing moisture into the filter/intake...Bad juju..Hope this helps.

Hey AASP,

Great question and it really depends on your use of the car.

If the car is a daily driver, I would definitely recommend going with the Airiad Cold Air Intake as the filter and heat shield are designed for every day duties while the race version is designed for strictly track use!

Hope this clears up some confusion and let me know if you have any other questions!

HI,

well i was in your shoe wondering the exact same question. I go on track only once in a while, so i went for Airraid Synthaflow Oiled filter. It really depends how often you are going on track. Hope that helps!
