Has anyone got a dyno graph of there car with a tune (stock air box) then a CAI and tune on the same dyno, same day?

Stock air box & tune as baseline then CAI and tune straight after

Lmfao! I have searched through so many pages of loads of threads some are 60 odd pages :headbonk:

I have seen loads of stock tunes upgraded to a CAI and tune, but not a stock air box tune vs CAI tune back to back,

If you know a thread I can search to find it I would really appreciate it!

Honestly, I don't think the CAI does much for power. It's mostly the tune, and slightly better air flow, with bigger MAF housing. I would imagine two cars with the same tune, one with stock intake, and one with CAI would be within 5hp of eachother

I don't want them running the same tune, I want a stock air box tune then a CAI tune but on the same graph on the same day,

I agree with you though, I think a panel filter with better airflow is more advantageous

Figured I'd throw a reply in here will all of the dyno testing we have done along with other independent sources. Intakes DO make power, at least ours do!

Bama's test tune only and then adding JLT.

Board member Anthony's results done at Livernois, which he had graphs but deleted them all when he got banned :(

Our very own 2015 GT, we base lined our car on a dyno dynamics and dyno jet, it made 381-384whp on both.

Another local customer's 2015 GT that allowed us to test on the dyno, this car had 250 miles on it at testing! Intake and tune

SVT Performance's testing, JLT picked up 11whp peak over tune only.

See attachement

So as you can see the lowest test shows 9whp, with typical results 12-15whp over the stock box.

9 WHP & 8LBS/FT? Over stock air box tune?

Cheers for the graphs, hard to read and want to make sure I'm reading it right, (last graph)

The first graph was done the same way at American Muscle.

Stock run
Tuned with stock box
Tuned with JLT

I included the other two graphs as the baseline numbers are all similar and produced 30-35+ whp gains. As far as I know only the SVT Performance test car was an Auto.

1st Graph - 9WHP + 7LBS/FT gains

2nd Graph + 3rd Graph only show stock vs JLT + Tune

4th Graph - 9WHP + 8LBS/FT Gains

Not sure about the 35 lol, none of your graphs show that over stock airbox + Tune, a stand alone time can do that...

HI there

So in short:
A tune gains you around 25WHP and 20lb/ft
Adding a CAI will get you around a further 10WHP and 5lb/ft on top.

So the tune gives the majority of the improvement, obviously if drag racing this is best way to go as the CAI are proven to hurt 1/4 mile times due to the fact they heat soak more than the stock air box with a panel filter.

What would be interesting is to see:
Stock with tune
Stock with panel filter and tune
CAI with tune

I shall most likely just leave my car stock and save up for the 350 intake manifold, throttle body and whatever is the best CAI for it if I cannot use the stock intake. :)

That's my plan, as well.

Stock airbox on the 2015 cars will not support much over 400whp. The tuner was able to coax 401whp with an AirAid Intake tube and a K&N panel filter on my car same dyno made 374whp same day with stock tune. I have the roush intake now and the car feels much stronger above 4k rpm compared to stock box.

I think your mixing up gains and claims.
35 over BONE STOCK has been done with the JLT and tune many times, that's what he's saying.

He posted one graph gaining 9 over a tuned stock box and a link to 14 over tune and stock box.

Panel filter don't gain much of anything.
