I was recently handed a C&L 85mm throttle body from a body for free for my 2017 mustang gt. I know the stock throttle body is quite good on these cars but I have free revision and was given the part is it worth putting on?

The cats/headers are the restrictions in the system, so unless you change those I'd doubt any gains.

I’m already catless kooks headers, 2018 intake manifold, borla atak cat back, 47lb injectors and air raid cold air intake

If you put a bigger throttle body on your engine, do you also need to tune the software?
Have you already had the ECU tuned for your other mods?

Yes I already have a tune from Lund and they offer free revision, my primary concern is the throttle body itself and how it affects drivablity

...So, we need someone with throttle body experience to chime in
but my guess is that there won't be any drivability issues after your free revision.

No gains N/A. Driveability is in the tuners hands. Ford performance can make the 87MM seamless.

Lund's response will be to stay with the OEM 80mm.
Wengerd Performance will probably have the most open and honest answer.
You're better off having the OEM 80mm modded by either Soler Perf. or Bret at AFS. 5 axis CNC'ed and it's no tune being the throttle tables stay the same.

I've had BBK 85 mm throttle body on my manual 17 and both of my auto 22s and never had drive-ability issues. The most recent 22 was the only one tuned for the TB along with JLT CAI from Palm Beach. The 17 had slightly better throttle response but I didn't notice much of a difference in either 22.

No drivability concerns here with 90mm C&L. But, also an auto because truck. Can’t speak on stick drivability. Running it on the same tune I received for stock tb
